President

Lord Waheed Alli		 Lord Waheed Alli The Trust was delighted when Lord Alli accepted its invitation to succeed Lord Weatherill as its President. Born in Croydon, Lord Alli was formerly Managing Director of the production company Planet 24 (founded with Charlie Parsons and Bob Geldof) and Carlton Productions (overseeing the creation of programmes from Inspector Morse to The Big Breakfast). He is now Executive Director of Shine Limited, a new independent production company formed with Elisabeth Murdoch. He was appointed a working Labour peer in 1998 and has served on the Government’s Creative Industries Task Force.
